Baltimore Housing Celebrates and Promotes Fatherhood
Annual event empowers fathers and strengthens Baltimore families
(Baltimore, MD – June 14, 2013) – In support of fathers, the Housing Authority of Baltimore City (HABC), Resident Services, Inc. (RSI), the Resident Advisory Board (RAB) and Parents Against Drugs (P.A.D.) hosted the Annual Father’s Day Celebration at Pleasant View Gardens Community Center on Saturday, June 8th. The event was geared to fathers and their children who live in public housing or participate in the Housing Choice Voucher Program. More than 200 people participated in the event. The celebration was designed to encourage positive interactions between father and child to help build stronger and healthier relationships. In addition to featuring fun activities for the whole family, the event connected fathers to economic development resources, such as on-site job opportunities, health services, and financial literacy workshops.
