You're Invited to Baltimore Builds – Watch The Video
In celebration of National Homeownership Month, Baltimore Housing will host the 3rd Annual Baltimore Builds Expo: Restoring Value to Baltimore’s Vacant Properties on Saturday, June 8th. The Baltimore Builds Expo is an extension of Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake’s Vacants to Value Initiative. This free event will be held from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Coppin State University’s Talon Center, 2500 W. North Avenue.
The Baltimore Builds Expo is designed with great emphasis on consumer education and vacant house rehabilitation. The event will feature financial workshops on the Vacants to Value Homeownership Program, which offers qualified homebuyers down payment and closing costs toward the purchase and renovation of designated Vacants to Value homes. In addition to learning about financial incentives, expo participants will be given insight on how to choose a contractor, renovate their homes, turn a vacant lot into an attractive and useful space, and navigate through the lending process. As part of the event, participants will be invited to tour some renovated and ready-for-rehab properties that were formerly city-owned vacants.
