Baltimore Housing Supports the Rising Star Golf Scholarship Tournament

Can one morning make a difference in the life of a Baltimore City youth? In the last four years, 26 high school graduates have received scholarships to pursue the fields of medicine, computer engineering, art, and architecture, to name a few. This year our first class of graduates will enter the workforce.

The Resident Services, Incorporated ("RSI") First Annual Golf Tournament last year raised over $50,000 towards a scholarship fund. This charity golf tournament supports gifted and talented college bound youth, Rising Stars, who reside in Baltimore City Public Housing.

You are cordially invited to participate in the Second Annual RSI Rising Star Scholarship Golf Tournament at the Pine Ridge Golf Course in Lutherville, MD, on Friday, September 27, 2013. The RSI charity golf tournament features four-person captain's choice teams. Registration begins at 7:00 am and a "Shot Gun Start" at 8:00 am.

In addition to sponsoring a team, there are many ways to contribute to this charitable event, such as providing merchandise for raffle sales, giving a cash donation, purchasing a patron ad, and more. Your participation will yield name recognition and advertisement during the event, a wonderfully prepared lunch, free gifts and more importantly a fun and competitive round of golf with old and new friends. RSI is a 501(c)(3) organization. Therefore, your contribution is tax deductible. Visit the Rising Star Scholar website at to find a list of sponsorship levels and to register online. If you have additional questions please feel free to contact Karen Kopp or John McDonald at 443-984-1896.

Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to consider this request. We look forward to working with you this coming year and in the years to come. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of Baltimore City's future leaders of tomorrow.

President, RSI
