Baltimore Housing Does Some Spring Cleaning in South Baltimore
The agency works with District 10 for a mini face lift (Baltimore - March 22, 2013) This week Baltimore Housing's Office of Community Services and Office of Construction Services (HABCo) joined with residents of the 10th District for a Community Clean Up Day. The department cleaned alleys, lots, trimmed trees and cleared walkways in the Brooklyn, Westport, Mt. Winans and Cherry Hill communities. The agency also set up a service center to educate residents on Energy Assistance Programs to those in need.
"Community Services is here to serve those who need us most," said Deputy Commissioner Reggie Scriber. "Some of our elderly residents are on fixed incomes and can't maneuver around their yards like they would like to; we were here to give a helping hand."
Baltimore Housing's Office of Community Services provides a host of resources for City residents including offering emergency services and relocation assistance, affordable day care to families who need it most and providing meals to young people in the summer through the Summer Food Service Program.
"Our job is to support Baltimore families," said Baltimore Housing Commissioner Paul T. Graziano. "We are working side by side with residents to help keep our neighborhoods strong and vital, this is just one of the many ways we can help get that job done."
