Project Finance
The Baltimore Department of Housing and Community Development (Baltimore Housing) is pleased to announce its Notification of Funding Availability for the winter 2009 (the NOFA). This round is intended to select additional projects that will receive support for the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development's (MDHCD) spring 2010 low income housing tax credit round. Four projects were earlier selected for support when MDCHD was anticipating an October 2009 round.
Unfortunately, due to funding constraints, no HOME funds will be available for this NOFA. In order to provide the necessary local contributions to MDHCD, Baltimore Housing will be considering applications for project-based Housing Choice Vouchers, payments in lieu of taxes, favorable land sales terms in cases where Baltimore Housing owns the property to be used for the project and funding for units to be reserved for non-elderly persons with disabilities funds. Non-elderly persons with disabilities are defined as:
A family whose sole member, head of household, or head of household's spouse is a person with a disability who is under the age of sixty-two (62), and which is eligible for a one-bedroom public housing unit or for a two-bedroom public housing unit because a second bedroom is needed for disability-related reasons; and who is on an HABC waiting list for public or Section 8 subsidized housing.
Please note that Baltimore Housing will continue to use the MDHCD application form (Form 202) with a number of the standard MDHCD attachments for the NOFA.
Finally, we will begin sending notifications of upcoming funding rounds and other important messages by email in the near future. If you wish to receive these announcements, please forward your email address with a short acknowledgement message to www.projectfinance@baltimorecity.gov Thank you for your interest in housing in Baltimore.
