Expo: Baltimore’s Extreme Home Makeover

By staff writer

Vacants to Value is a Baltimore Housing initiative dedicated to restoring value to Baltimore. By tearing down abandoned properties and building and renovating on condemned or vacant lots, Vacants to Value has worked to make Baltimore a healthier city.

Since its inception in 2010, the Vacants to Value program has demolished over 245 abandoned properties, has worked on renovations for over 450 vacant properties, has issued over 700 citations to enforce property maintenance, and has increased city property sales from 100 in 2010 to 524 in 2012.

This Saturday, Vacants to Value will be hosting its Baltimore Builds Expo. This is an opportunity to learn more about how to be involved in restoring and renovating Baltimore.

At the expo, there will be informational booths and educational seminars. There will also be opportunities to speak with industry professionals and tour rehabilitated properties.

The expo is free, but pre-registration is required. For more information, call 410-396-4111 or email v2v@baltimorecity.gov.

The event will be held on:
